Jennifer Hudson made her return to the stage in a MAJOR way earlier this evening. Jennifer performed her rendition of the "Star-Spangled Banner" at Super Bowl XLIII. NOT to my surprise, she killed it! murdered it! She sang her FACE off!!! AHHHHHH!!!!! LoL... [I was getting massive texts and phone calls as though it was I that just finished belting it out.]
GO J. HUD!!!!!!!
LA Times went as far as to say this:
The most emotional moment of pregame came when Jennifer Hudson sang a stunning rendition of the national anthem, one that even drew applause in the press box, where no cheering is allowed. That almost never happens.
MTV had something to say, too:
Stepping onto a small blue platform, Hudson took a deep breath and leaned easily into the microphone, letting loose her signature crystalline vocals on the country's anthem, bringing the song a dreamy quality that rivaled one of the other great renditions of the anthem at the big game: Whitney Houston's legendary soul shakedown in 1991 during the first Gulf War.
