“Years ago, I was definitely headed for a breakdown,” she continues. “Just way too much work—my life was my career and I had no other life. It started when I was 15 and I hadn’t learned the importance of balance, making sure I took a day off. I didn’t know what ‘no’ was, what boundaries were. At this point, I know that after a certain amount of time I have to go home. I know what I like now. It just takes life experience to get a good balance. When you’re young, you don’t know what relaxes you."
A new track from Brandy's, December 9th, release Human has leaked entitled "2nd Thought"... Man, this chick nows how to groove with her slow jams. This song reminds of her Full Moon days. Think "He Is". Her voice has thoroughly matured. After all, every album Brandy does is better than the one before, in my opinion. This album is shaping up to be even antother step in a more mature direction. From her vocals, to her range, and just the passion in her voice; Brandy's one of those artists that sings from her soul, and you can feel it. That's why i love her. She's Human, just like me.
To fill you in; celebrities, fans, and friends alike are all showering the Hudson sisters with their prayers, love, and support. The Hudson family announced that a memorial service will be held on Monday, November 3rd, 2008 at Chicago’s Apostolic Church of God. Instead of flowers, the family has asked everyone to please bring donations to their brand new charity, The Hudson-King Domestic Violence Protection Fund. Here's the address:
I was reading a beautiful article, on USAToday.com, on the future hopes of Jennifer Hudson, and I just wanted to share it with you.
"Some of us are equipped by God to handle certain situations. And once we have handled them, we turn our setbacks into comebacks, and that is what Jennifer can do," says Tim Storey, ...
...I fully believe that she will turn this around to change many people's lives." And down the road, Bragman says, "I suspect she'll get involved with an organization that works with domestic violence or victims rights, but it's too soon for that."
"My sense is she won't become a recluse or leave Hollywood. She's a born entertainer."
Brandy takes the stage at TRL to perform the first single off of her album, Human. This is one of her first performances of the song, and i think she did a really good job. Her vocals are simply amazing. Live or studio. just RUN!
here's a new track from the producer turned singer's soon-to-be released album, Love Vs. Money, titled "Let Me See The Booty"... wow... creative. Oh yeah, it also features "crunkster" Lil John... mess.
So... FINALLY, a preview of what i've been waiting SOOO long for. My uncle Kirks third installment of his "Gospel According to Jazz" series. It features Kirk Whalum, Kevin Whalum, Hugh "Peanuts" Whalum, Kenneth Whalum III, ME - KORTLAND WHALUM, and Kyle Whalum. It was truly a family affair. Lalah Hathaway, Jerry Peters and George Duke also contribute to this musical timepiece. I'm so happy to be a part of it. Wow....
John Walsh of 'America's Most Wanted' says the show plans to help find Jennifer Hudson's nephew, Julian King. "['America's Most Wanted'] will be following the case extensively and plans to broadcast a special segment about this crime on the Saturday, November 1st broadcast," John says. Law Enforcement is still searching for the seven-year-old boy who went missing on Friday. That same day, Hudson's mother and brother were found shot to death in their home. "We urge anyone with information about Julian King's whereabouts to call us [anonymously] at 1-800-CRIME-TV or e-mail us at AMW.com."
Man, this is terrible. I'm sure you've heard all the updates so I won't post them here, but this is just the latest. This is truly a nightmare for a dreamgirl. smh...
Rumor has it that Shannon Bex, the quiet member of Danity Kane, called it quits. This means that Danity Kane now consists of TWO members: Aundrea and Dawn. Help us. Publicity much??
CHICAGO (CBS) ― Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson's mother was reportedly found fatally shot in a South Side home Friday, according to a representative of the family's church, CBS Station WBBM-TV in Chicago reported.
Two adults were found dead in a home at 70th Street and Yale Avenue Friday afternoon, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
A representative of the family's church, Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist, confirms that 57-year-old Darnell Hudson was one of the victims.
Damn....
As soon as things take off for her, something tragic like this has to happen. All i can do is shake my head and pray for her and her family's strength. Wow.
UPDATE:The other victim has been identified as Jennifer's brother, Jason. They were found by Jennifer's cousin. Police believe the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute. Police are reportedly looking for a man and a 7-year-old boy.
music and love go hand in hand with me. i can't have one without the other. in my life, love without music is impossible; music without love is incomprehensible. i love love, and i love music. so love baby, love. love music, love love, and love me...
... this is what this is about. music and love. music 4 love.
On this weeks Billboard charts, Jennifer finally has the NUMBER ONE single in the America with her hit "Spotlight". She claims the title on both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop and Hot Adult R&B charts, beating out T.I. and Jazmine Sullivan. Slowly but surely she's made her way to the top. Congratulations chick. :-D
I had to post a video of her singing "Giving Myself Over To You" on her BET special a while back. This girl....
so ive started rehearsals for my upcoming gigs and this is just two clips of me singin songs from the show. excuse the sound quality, but ENJOY! :-D btw, that's Aaron Mathews on the piano.
People always ask what's my big deal with Jennifer Hudson. and i always give the same answer; "she is the epitome of letting go, and letting God." i say this because i've been a fan of the chick since her AI days. While i would watch her, i would always say to myself, "this girl got somethin'." in true american idol fashion, once a contestant has been voted off, more than likely you never hear from, or about, them again. think Carmen Rasmusen.... right.
any who, everybody was saying that she wasn't gonna be nothing after she voted off and she'll probably go to work at Wal-Mart. yet, she pushed. She kept pushing and i remember her saying something that i ALWAYS say, "you know; i don't know when, and i dont know how, but i know God got something for me." After her elimination on Idol, she appeared on Entertainment Tonight to talk about the shocker of how she was booted along with being in the bottom three with the other 2 'divas'. Paula asked her if there was one thing in the world she would love to do in her career, what would it be. She answered, "i would love to play jennifer holiday in dreamgirls, so i can sing that song." two years later....... yeah.
in short folks, SPEAK WHAT YOU WANT! there's no limit to what God can do. The most important thing is that you TRUST that He will do it. Thats why i know i can rest comfortably in Him. He's the bomb...TRY Him!
Here's a video of her performance, and my favorite one, "Weekend In New England". She sang this the night her life began, a second time:
All things LOVE, baby!
So yeah, this isn't a blog to be taken seriously, really. Its just kinda of like my "public diary" to my family and friends. You're gonna see a lot of J. Hud & Beyonce, but that's just me. :-D hey, you gotta LOVE me!!!
